Made of polymer clay - meticulously decorated acrylic paint, and mounted onto a custom wooden frame.
The barril is 1 of 3 instruments in traditional Puerto Rican bomba.The percussionists that play the barril buleador coordinate and play the basic rhythm of the seis de bomba, while the percussionist of the barril primo or subidor(which is tuned higher than the rest) improvises and accentuates a dancer’s piquetes (sudden and specific movements) with repiques (drum beats).
